The Weeknd‘s Beauty Behind the Madness exploded onto the Billboard 200 albums chart, moving 412,000 equivalent album units, including an impressive 326,000 albums sold.
Debuting at No. 2 is Halsey, who will be touring with The Weeknd later this year. Her album, Badlands, debuted with 115,000 units, including 97,000 album sales.
Luke Bryan‘s Kill the Lights dropped one spot to No. 3. He was followed by Taylor Swift‘s 1989, which jumped from No. 7 to No. 4. Rounding out the top five is Dr. Dre‘s Compton, which fell two rungs.
Ed Sheeran‘s X also fell one spot, to No. 6. He was followed by the debut of Maddie & Tae, who entered at No. 7 (28,000 units).
Beach House‘s latest, Depression Cherry, debuted at No. 8 (27,000 units) and Ben Rector‘s Brand New entered at No. 9 (26,000 units).
Rounding out the top ten is last week’s top album, Disturbed‘s Immortalized.
