Future‘s third studio album, DS2, is his first to reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart after moving 147,000 equivalent album units. The A-1/Freedbandz/Epic Records release was only announced a week before going on sale.
Taylor Swift‘s 1989 continues to impact the charts, remaining at No. 2. Alan Jackson‘s Angels and Alcohol debuted at No. 3 after moving 48,000 units. The album, Jackson’s 14th top 10 album, also opened at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Last week’s top album, Tyrese‘s Black Rose dropped to No. 4. Rounding out the top five is Jason Isbell, whose new album, Something More Than Free debuted at No. 5 with (41,000 units).
Meek Mill‘s Dreams Worth More Than Money fell from No. 3 to No. 6. Tame Impala‘s Currents opened at No. 7 and moved 38,000 units.
Ed Sheeran‘s X fell from No. 5 to No. 8. Sam Hunt‘s Montevallo dropped from No. 7 to No. 9. Kidz Bop Kids Kidz Bop 29 rounded out the top 10 after falling from No. 4.
